  Career Fair
Today, I went to attend the Networking event sponsored by my school, SMU. The school had invited the some companies to attend this session so that we as students can interact with them. In short, it is like a career fair organized by school.

I found that my school Office of Career Services did an excellent job. Though it was not a fantastic networking event, but at least I had some kind of real life exposure. It was an opportunity for us to know more about our employers.

I was hoping to find some prospect jobs there. To my dismay, most of the companies were not IT related fields. Or some of them didn’t have IT vacancies right now. I could see that a lot of students surrounded big finance companies booths. Current markets has shown financial sectors are booming in Singapore. I heard it paid really well. Anyone has any job to introduce? I am graduating soon. I need job.^-^.
Wish me luck in finding a job.

  Dim Sum Dollies
Over the weekend, Nelly invited me to watch “WXY piano performance”. The event was organised by three students from NAFA. The event was made possible from a friendship that has blossomed over three years of studies. Special guest performer was Nelly’s cousin, Midorie. I am very impressed by their performance and showcase talent. It has been so long that I didn’t watch any piano performance. The last one was about 8 years back while I was still in Indonesia. This was really a good experience.

After that, I caught “Dim Sum Dollies” show with my boyfriend, John and Lu.
The show was really humorous and amazing. They covered lots of issues in Singapore. Most importantly, they managed to remain politically correct while making fun of all the higher ups in Singaporean politics.

And for Singapore production, generally it was not that bad. I felt really sorry for this Caucasians couple in front of us because I doubt they understood half the jokes. You need to be Singaporean to fully appreciate the show. John laughed embarrassingly loudly. Everyone had so much fun. I strongly advised everyone should really go catch it if you’ve got the time.

  Bye Bye Fei Fei
This morning, I couldn't believe my eyes. I was watching at the news. It announced that beloved Hong Kong TV host and comedienne Lydia Sum died on Tuesday. I am sure she will be remembered for her contribution towards HK media industry. Her laugh will be much missed. Reported showed Lydia Sum died on February 19, 2008 of liver cancer, following a prolonged bout of complications related to a cholecystectomy done in 2002.

  Crocs
Last weekend, I walked pass a Crocs store at Orchard. Something caught my attention in the store. I was so fascinated by the range of their products line. Not for shoes but for
Jibbitz. Interestingly, Jibbitz is decorations for Crocs shoes. It has a wide variety of cartoon characteristics, such as Disney, that can be attached to the shoes’ hole. Happily, I went off the store with new Crocs shoes.

In a glimpse, I realized for plastic made shoes costs about 48++ bucks and each decoration costs for $5.30, it doesn’t come cheap. In fact, when I was in China, I have seen plenty of plastic shoes that exactly model like the Crocs’s designed in the market. The only difference is without Crocs labeling.

  Social Media
Attending the class “social media and communication across Asia” class, to my shocking, the impacts social networking such as blog, instant messaging, youtube, podcast can be very dramatic.

Let’s say about the recent speculation of Edison Chen’s scandals. The Edison Chen nude picture scandal and the female stars have fallen victim to it. The victims are Gillian Chung, Cecilia and Bobo Chan have seen their sweet images torn apart by the scandal. I am very concern about their career in the entertainment industry. Can these celebrities survive the humiliation? Let’s time speak for itself.

  Secret Spy or Custom Officer
Tomorrow, I will be flying over to Jakarta, Indonesia. Just now I rushed to attend the career talk by Singapore Custom. Upon arriving, I am so shocked that only 10 students were there. And, it seems that the job scope is very irrelevant from what I’ve studied so far. The career consultant said you might need to become a secret spy in any time. Understandably, I don’t think I will apply for that position.

Sadly, though it’s a Chinese new year, I still have lots of things to do, so many homework left undone. The worst is I still have a class tomorrow. On the other hand, my parents insisted me to go home. Looking at the bright side, I can have a reunion dinner with my family. I can see my brothers and sister. And, I can get extra ang pow from my parents.

Nonetheless, I have just uploaded my third song, Marriage Amour. I have just learned how to play it. It might not be purrrrfect. Hopefully I can constantly improve my skills over time. This music I tried to learn by ear. It is tough indeed; I need to spend lots of time for trial and error. The moment you have mastered the song, you will feel the sense of pleasure and achievement from playing it. It needs a lot of hard work and practice cause fingers are already stiff. Plus, need a lot of self discipline also as adults beginner tends to get sick of learning new thing.

  Gambling Drama
Finally, I have finished watching the TVB drama, Dicey Business. TVB drama series production Dicey Business (賭場風雲) is a 35 episode series which aired in Hong Kong after TVB 39th Anniversary Awards Ceremony

Initially, I was not keen to watch this drama as I hate gambling very much. Ever since, my boyfriend bought this drama, I started to watch and my whole family is hooked into the series. All I can say is this movie is extraordinary. It is not just about gambling. It has strong plot, strong cast, and unique characters and like every good drama, a good mix of humour and poignancy. Be sure to rent or buy this show. If you have SCV, now is going to show at channel 55, 9pm starting from Monday, Feb 11.

Synopsis
Chang, a former poker champion now working in a casino is reunited with his long-lost brother, now named Fu, through a compulsive gambler named Yun. Chang’s boss, Chu discovers Fu’s gift for gambling and offers to develop his skills. Although Chu seems to be looking out for Fu, he is actually trying to sow discord between the brothers.

Starts: Bobby Aueyung as Chang, Jessica Hester Hsuan (yun), Bosco Wong (Fu), Michael Miu Kiu Wai (Chu), Tavie Yeung (Mei), Huo Siu Hung (Rong)

Another new drama series is coming too. Coincidentally, it is also about gambling.
This time, Starhub purposely arrange 2 gambling drama and air on the same season. The drama, Best Bet has 20 episode long series. Sadly, I am over loaded with my school stuffs and do not have time to watch TVB drama. Nevertheless, I will try to catch some episodes when I am free.

Synopsis
Yi has been a gambling addict all his life, while the beautiful Ying thinks lowly of gamblers. They marry after Yi promises to give up his vice. But when Yi finds it impossible to break his bad habit, Ying considers leaving for Hong Kong to further her studies.

Stars: Micahel Tse as Yi, Linda Chung(Ying), Lai Yiu Cheung (Sheng), Anne HEueng(LI.Hui)
